NOTICE OF RACE
Wayfarer North American Championships
August 14th and 15th, 2010
Organized by TS&CC and the Canadian Wayfarer Association

  1. RULES
    1. The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.
    2.  If there is a conflict between languages, the English text will take precedence.
  2. ADVERTISING
    1. Advertising will be restricted to Category A.
  3. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
    1. The regatta is open to boats of the Wayfarer class whose skippers are a member of a National Class Association for the current year.
    2. Eligible boats may enter by completing the registration form and paying the appropriate registration fee before 10:15 AM at TS&CC on Saturday morning, August 14th, 2010.
  4. FEES
    1. The fee of Cdn $70.00 will cover racing and 2 lunches on Saturday and 2 dinners for Saturday Night. Extra dinners can be purchased for $15.00.
  5. SCHEDULE
    1. Registration –       9:00 AM – 9:45 AM Saturday, August 14th, 2010
    2. Racing -                 August 14 & 15th, 2010
    3. The scheduled time of the warning signal for the first race is: 11:00 AM – Saturday and 10:00 AM Sunday.
  6. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
    1. The Sailing instructions will be available at registration.
  7. VENUE
The regatta will be held out of the Toronto Sailing and Canoe Club with the race area being approximately 1.5 km south of the break wall at TS&CC.

  1. THE COURSES
    1. The courses will be either twice around windward – leeward and/or Triangle, windward – leeward.  The course will be at the option of the race committee. Both types of courses will have a downwind finish.
  2. SCORING
    1. The Bonus Point System of Appendix A will apply, except series ties will be not be broken
    2. One race is required to be completed to constitute a series.
    3. When more than 4 races are completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.
  3. PRIZES
    1. Prize will be awarded to the first 3 places and the most improved skipper, as well as other awards, when available.
  4. Insurance
    1. Each participating boat shall be insured with a valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of $1,000,000 per event or the equivalent.
