1. Rules
1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined
in The Racing Rules of Sailing.
1.2 The rules of the International Wayfarer Class
Association will apply.
2. Eligibility
2.1 The regatta is open to all Wayfarer Class and CL 16
class boats.
2.2 Eligible boats may register from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30
a.m. Saturday, 5/18/19
3. Fees
3.1 The registration is $40.00 USD.
4. Schedule of Racing
and Events
4.1.1 Saturday, 5/18/19 – 9:00 a.m.: Boats start to
arrive and rig. If anyone needs advice on rigging or
general information on Wayfarers, help will be made
available to all competitors and anybody interested in
finding out more information about the Wayfarer.
4.1.2 Saturday, 5/18/19 – 11:00 a.m.: Competitors
Meeting
4.1.3 Saturday, 5/18/19 – Noon: Warning Signal of first
of up to 6 races
4.1.4 Saturday, 5/18/19 – No race to start after 4:00
p.m.
4.1.5 Saturday, 5/18/19 – Awards once boats are packed
away.
4.1.6 Saturday, 5/18/19 – Dinner after prize giving.
4.1.7 Sunday 5/19/19 – All competitors welcome at the
East Lansing Arts Festival. Stay and enjoy small
university town USA. Contact Marc Bennett for more
information.
5. Sailing Instructions
5.1 The Sailing Instructions will be available at
registration.
6. Venue
6.1 The course will be located within Lake Lansing off
Lansing Sailing Club.
7. The Course
7.1 The course will be windward leeward, once or twice
around as described in the Sailing Instructions. An
offset at the windward may be used depending on number
of competitors.
8. Penalty System
8.1 The 720-degree penalty system as described in RRS
44.1 and 44.2 will apply.
9. Scoring
9.1 When 4 or more races have been completed, a boat’s
series score will be the total of her scores excluding
her worst score.
10. Support Boats
10.1 Support boats are required to register with the
Race Committee.
11. Berthing
11.1 Boats are to be kept in their assigned dry sail
area when ashore.
12. Prizes
12.1 Prizes will be awarded for first through third
place and a most improved award.
13. Disclaimer of
Liability
13.1 Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at
their own risk. See RRS Rule 4, Decision to Race.
Neither the organizing authority nor the hosts will
accept any liability for material damage or personal
injury or death sustained in conjunction with, or prior
to, during, or after the regatta.
14. Insurance
14.1 Each participating boat shall be insured.
15. Competitors will be
responsible for their own lunches on the water.
16. Dinner will be
provided by the Wayfarer fleet following prize giving
Saturday. Dinner will be Brats and Beer for all
competitors and race committee. Please note there will
only be Coffee and Bagels as snacks in the morning. We
advise competitors to have breakfast before they arrive
and please bring your own water and lunch.
17. Camping will be
allowed on club property.
