Weather permitting, our itinerary will be as follows:

Excellent launch ramps across from the Marina

Captain Tyler's Crabhouse

Mon 21 June 2021:
arriveafter noon at the Somers Cove launch ramp across the Cove from the Somers Cove Marina > boat set-up and Marina check-in > group crab dinner at Captain Tyler's Crabhouse.

Sleep aboard at marina, or follow the luxury model: Hans and I plan to return once more to our beloved Paddlewheel Motel aka Capt. Tyler's  (
410-968-2220) which is eminently acceptable: clean, very reasonably priced, right near the Marina.

Tue 22 June:
sail to Ewell on Smith Island > Pauli Zmolek's Marina - B&B likely

Sleep aboard in their slip at Marina

Susan's on Smith Island   410-425-2403
Smith Island Inn
info &reservations  410-689-9438

Wed 23 June:
sail about 12 n. miles south to Tangier Island

Sleep aboard in slip at Milton Parks' Marina
757-891-2581   757 8912567 .
B&B: We have usually had good luck getting rooms at
Hilda Crockett's Chesapeake House 757 891 2331   I plan to try for the Bay View Inn  where we stayed last time. I highly recommend it. Click here for some of my 2015 Bay View pics.

Thurs 24 May:
Tangier to  Onancock > haul-out  > only if winds are ideal, in which case we can phone Donna at Capt. Tyler's and get someone to pick us up and return us to Crisfield. If we are keen to hang around longer, we could do the usual picnic trip to Watts Island on the Thursday, and sail Tangier to either Crisfield or Onancock on the Friday.

Fun thinking about this, isn't it?
Best regards,
Uncle Al  (W3854)
