Location: Lake Townsend YC is inside the Marina operated by the City of Greensboro on Lake Townsend near Greensboro, North Carolina.  Free entry to the Marina grounds for LTYC members and guests.

Programme this past year (2018):

Friday:
  • afternoon: Marina open for boat set-up and sailing practice. Marina locks up at 7PM.
  • registration/check-in 5 to 7 PM at the Shelter (LTYC "clubhouse"): On-line entrants check in, others register now or in the morning.
  • new tradition begun: jam session/sing-along chez Ken Butler or Trish McDermott (below)




 Saturday:
  • 08:30 - 10:00 AM:   Check-in/Registration at the Shelter; continental breakfast
  • 10:30 AM: Competitors' briefing
  • 12 noon: Warning signal for the first of five scheduled races - no drops - corrected time via US Portsmouth handicap system. Additional races to follow - more or less back to back.
  • After the racing: Social and dinner

Sunday:
  • 8:30 - 9:30 AM: Continental breakfast
  • 10:30 AM: First Sunday Warning signal
  • There are usually no starts after 1300 hours on Sunday.
  • After racing: Haul-out and social. Lunch. Raffle and other possible fund raisers for earlier.org
  • Awards as soon as possible.
 
Support for earlier.org's fund raising towards earlier detection of breast cancer
takes many forms, but none more charming than this.

Races will be run on Greensboro's Lake Townsend by the Lake Townsend YC.

Facilities: First-class boat launching ramps, docks, club shelter (below), marina washrooms.




No Camping is available on the grounds.
Couches, etc. available in a number of local Wayfarer homes.
Free beer throughout the weekend at the Chalet/Shelter
Entry Fee: Was $60.00 in 2018 - included Saturday night dinner for two.
