October Executive Meeting.
The most notable item from the first meeting deals with the discussion at the AGM about changes to the specifications.  It was carried unanimously that if an owner wishes to make any changes not specifically covered in the Class Rules, he is requested to notify the Hon. Sec. and receive authorization from the Executive before proceeding.
Many other things were discussed but more of them in later issues when we have definite information.

Treasurer’s Report.

  Geo. Blanchard.
The Boat Shop Corner.
Croce and Lofthouse advise that they will presently have available the 6’6” long Spinnaker poles and all present owners of the shorter poles may have them exchanged.
Anyone having trouble with the after-hatch?  Plans are available, free of charge, from Croce and Lofthouse, if you’d like to make it flush with the deck.
New advertising is contemplated, and pictures of groups of Wayfarers are urgently required.  Please send them to Croce and Lofthouse and help save the day.
The Wayfarer will be exhibited next year at Toronto, Kitchener, New York, Chicago, Cleveland and Detroit.  That’s quite a circuit, but we’re sure that there will be more boats about as a result of it.  We hear that there is a lone Wayfarer down in the Lone Star State - let’s hope that Texans realise what a big little boat we have.

Regattas.
Wally Cavill had a good year in W276, taking first at the National YC, Royal Canadian YC, North Bay Weekend, the Canadian Championships, and the CNE Open Regatta; second at the Island YC and third at Port Credit. Terry Gregg (W282) and Alec Lowenthal (W151) shone again this year, but the big surprise was Leo Maarse sailing W627 in its first year.

North Bay Yacht Club.
Don Rumble, a faithful correspondent, sends the results of the year’s racing at North Bay.

Don Rumble W634 & W141 4419 pts.
Don Paine W112 3819 pts.
Wes McNutt W601 2566 pts.
Ken Valin W159 1300 pts.
N. Bowers W111   968 pts.
Paul Grose W417   919 pts.

Grand Social Evening.
Shelly Levy, 235 Chaplin Crescent, Toronto, has opened her parents’ home to the CWOA.  Come along and see the Championship films and socialise with your friends.

 Time: 7.30 p.m.  Date: Friday, December 14th, 1962.
This will be a grand entertainment, so please come.

For Sale.
W285 is on the auctioneer’s block and Arthur Earl is hoping for a price of $1,200.00 and when you see the excellent condition and racing record of this boat, we feel that you’ll tell your friends to call Arthur at BElmont 2-2951, Local 165 or at EMpire 4-5845.

Hon. Sec.
Contrary to public opinion, it is not difficult to get hold of the Hon. Sec. Just call me at 489-2121; I won’t be there, but leave a message and I’ll call you back.  In the evening call 481-0124 or even write 42 Glen Elm Ave., Apt. 202, Toronto 7.

North American Championships.
“One Design Yachtsman” has excellent coverage of this event and it will suffice for us to list the complete results.
