Last year, our executive
decided to re-dedicate the Lansdown-O'Brien
Spittoon. It
will henceforth be awarded for "feats of unique
seamanship". Above, we

Last year, I wrote: Rob Wierdsma was the CWA's
2008 Rookie of
the
Year. But that trophy appears to have gone missing, so
we had Rob pose
with the Red
Herring Award
instead. That trophy was in fact won Rob and his
son, Daniel,
this year. Well done!! ... |
Trudy Davis was on hand
to
present the Don Davis
Memorial Trophy (years of
exceptional service to the Wayfarer Class in North
America) to North
Carolina's Jim and Linda Heffernan (above) but they
could not make the long trip to accept the CWA's
highest honour which will instead be presented to the
Heffernans at the
Midwinters in early February.
