Winds are beginning to pick up as Uncle Al (3854) starts the second beat of race #1 in pursuit of race winners, Alastair and David Ryder-Turner. Fred Black (7379) and Geoff Edwards (9483) will round close behind.

Half an hour later, Alastair and David Ryder-Turner are about to win race 1, all the races being windward-leewards with downwind finishes.

Uncle Al and Marc Bennett rounded 8th off the first beat, having gone right instead of left, but clawed their way back up into a second-place finish.

It's a fine 3rd for Kit Wallace and David Weatherston, while ...

... Peter Kozak with Annelies Groen takes 4th.

A fine 5th for Fred Black and Michael Kachkovsky

It's down to the wire for Reg Bunt with son, Christopher (7227) and the brothers Taylor. Will Reg hold onto his slim lead with only 50 yards to go til the finish?

No. Mark and Paul Taylor (7673) surf through to leeward of Reg just in time to grab 6th!

A spiffy 8th for Geoff Edwards and Dave Codd (9483) ahead of Dave Platt (not seen here)

Close behind the Kennedys, Ted Lacelle spinnakers in with Bastian Pfannkuche. Ted needs to apply more vang to keep the main from twisting off excessively!!

Bob Kennedy (3571) gets the start in race 2 but, with his wrecked centreboard, things will go downhill from there for Bob!
