Midwinters 2000 champions: Marc Bennett and Uncle Al

Canadian Honorary Commodore, George Blanchard, dropped by for the regatta but did not race.

Mike Murto went on to be the backbone of the Midwinters for many years before his untimely passing in 2015.

and now all that was left was the
Midwinters and boo-hoo-hoo! the trip home
As we were leaving Kentucky, Tom Wharton called to inform us that nearly a metre of snow had fallen at home! Fortunately, when we got home to Oakville at 10:30 p.m. Monday (above) it was not quite as bad as that but it still enough to chill Marc's Jamaican blood!!!

The next day, it was almost as though we'd never been away!! Above, Uncle Al clutches his Waldringfield Wayfarer mug full of coffee, and a bag full of Midwinters film as he prepares to drive the kids (Joanna 13, David 11) to school while SHADES shivers in the background.
