the 2011
Wayfarer Midwinters Sunday pics - 1 by Mary Krauss & Uncle Al ... |
Sunday morning found Tony,
Mary and me at our usual breakfast spot where we were
shocked to find ... ... |
... Nick Seraphinoff. ... |
There being no RC-boat
takers for the CWA camera, Uncle Al decided to take it
onto the water into what appeared to be ... ... |
... a light northwesterly
that was on its last legs. ... |
A couple of MCs on their
way to the race area: Jean-Pierre Bordes (1699) and Craig
Eaton (2331) ... |
Kraussie at the helm while
Al fiddles with the pixels. It's a bit cooler today but of
course far less windy. ... |
Ted has snagged himself a
crew today. Izak? ... |
Pat and Ed - the way that
boom angles up, I am inclined to suggest more rake, i.e.
shorter shrouds so to speak. ... |
No sign of better breeze ... |
Now things look a bit more
promising - even if I remained unable to get the
auto-focus to kick in!! ... |
After the race, the RC very
wisely sent us in for the day and the sailing part of
Midwinters 2011 was over. We had just enough air movement to ghost back towards the club. Here Al captures Jim H. as these two have just crossed 1-2. ... |
3rd place went to the once
again impressive Tom McNally ahead of ... ... |
... Butch Minson. 5th
across would be Jim L. Meanwhile picking up Jimmy McIntyre
as crew worked wonders for Richard Watterson who had a 6th, perhaps the best race of his short career as a helm. ... |
