Departure morning for
Uncle

Two hours after my
noon
departure from Oakville, ON, Hwy 402 between London and Sarnia was living up to its snow belt reputation. ............ |
The Blue Water Bridge
was
anything but. ............ |
Crossing into Michigan ............ |
A quick fill-up in
Port
Huron where I promptly got lost, having been too cheap
to update
Sheila, my car GPS. I nearly got stuck on a very slippery side street but finally got back onto the Interstates and on my way to the ... ............ |

in
Whitmore Lake, relieved to see the end of that ... ............ |
... mini-snow
storm
that had seen me drive by a seemingly endless
procession of wrecks or
vehicles in ditches or fields. The beer above was well
earned, I
figured. Having transferred my personal gear, I was
ready to be
chauffeured to Marc and Julie's place in East Lansing.
There the five
of us would have dinner. Then Tony and Mary rushed
back home to get a
bit of sleep before leaving at 0500 hrs to drive my
car and boat to
Eustis. I travelled with Marc to keep him company
while Julie would fly
down to Orlando on Thursday afternoon.

Like the rest of us,
the
"bar dog" from St. Marys, GA, is aging and on his way to
legend status. He will have a regatta named after him later this year: the Old Brown Dog Regatta. ............ |
Richard Watterson left
Hummelstown, PA, early and by Sat. morning, the 28th of
Jan., he was
well on his way to FL. ............ |
That very evening
Richard
was already enjoying warm sun with the hard-working LESC
locals. ............ |
Trevor Fisher came in
all
the way from the East Down YC in Northern Ireland and
this is what he
saw as he arrived in Eustis on Tuesday afternoon: (l to r) three Hartleys, SHADES and the Free Range Chick'n. ............ |
