Al's departure day: Sat 26 Jan 13: The scene at Whiffle Web World Headquarters in Oakville, Ontario
........

So pretty in our back yard! But I'm sure I can tear myself away!!
........

Monday afternoon, Whitey's Fish Camp on the St. Johns River just south of Jacksonville, FL. Everything has gone completely as planned. Al arrived boatless in East Lansing on Saturday afternoon, had a burger feast with Marc and Julie at the Peanut Barrel and a festive evening chez Julie et Marc. Next morning, Marc and I attached his beloved Jamaica Blue to his Jeep and we were off towards North Carolina where we would visit with new Wayfarer, Don Silsbe, in Tryon who would wine and dine us in exchange for some Wayfarer advice. And Don and his wife, Terri. did so in fine style despite the fact that we arrived several hours late and in the dark. Over a substantial mug of Don's delicious coffee, we talked sailing beside his and Marc's boat for an hour or so and were off soon enough that by early afternoon we were here.
........

80°F or more  :)   Whitey's was not officially open for the day as yet
but the kind proprietor sold us half a dozen ice-cold Buds which ...
........

... helped us to properly enjoy the lovely waterfront ambience.
........

I was born for this, thinks Uncle Al.
........

This fine gentleman politely declined our offer of a cold one but did add to the perfection of the mood with his cigar.
........

Whitey's had everything!!
........

Monday afternoon saw us nicely arrived in Eustis to perfect summer weather. Not trusting Al to drive his babies properly,
Marc had driven the entire way, leaving Al in charge of crosswords, sustenance and naps.
........

Surprisingly (or not?), it took me years to figure out that looking out from the LESC one does not face south.

........

Another thing that did not register until this year: When the bell (left) is rung, sunset silence is required.
........

In a quick email, Scott Tillema announced that Uncle Al (and Marc) had arrived..

........

Early arrivals, Alex and Peter Rahn chat with Marc.
........

Local veterans, Andy Fox? and Scott Tillema, supervise.
........

Marc Bennett (r) sports his MoJo shirt as he chats with new Wayfarer, Tom Hankard. The shirt dates back to the first Mids in 2000 when
we visited the Clearwater Jamaican  restaurant where his Uncle was maître d' and where we got our shirts before they officially went on sale.

........

Our old friend: the cottonmouth still suns itself on a crossbeam of the LESC dock.
........

As Marc and Tom continue their chat, Peter and Alex ...
........

... launch their Knights of Mayhem with a view to putting a bit of practice.
