Saturday morning at the North Americans
pics by Uncle Al
...
Looks like a good wind for the day as we drive up to the club after a restful night chez Nick and Mary.
..
We all stopped off for breakfast at McDonald's. Here Uncle Al peeks in through the window at the Town family:
Scott, Uncle Grant, Paul and Dawn.
..
Of course, Paul must examine the "free" toy before breakfast can be considered!
Peter Rahn is ready to give technical advice!
..
The ladies (Joanne Kumpf, Dolores deBoer and Dawn Town) have a morning chat.
Note the low water level which meant ladder use to get into the boats from the sides of the ramp.
..
Things look a bit nasty to the west as Carl Shepherd gets in a bit of pre-race fishing.
..
Grant and Scott compete to see who can avoid the camera.
..
So Al has to wait to catch them while...
..
... they're ...
..
... busy.
...
The flags already reflect a healthy breeze as Peter Rahn and Alex prepare to unleash Shadow.
..
Hubert Dauch (r) makes plans with freshly acquired crew, Ken Greywall,
while Phyllis Dauch (l) and Mary Seraphinoff compare notes on how happy they are to be staying dry.
..
If we didn't know better, we'd have to say these gentlemen were discussing the East Tawas hot spots.
(l to r) Grant Town, Brian Jeffs, Scott Bamford
..
The TSCC team of Wally Merrill (l) and CWA Racing Secretary, Geoff Edwards.
..
Jennifer Princing and her new helm, Nick Seraphinoff. Not once did this fine crew say:
"Well.... there goes the race!!"
..
Wayfarer Man, Frank Goulay, brought his other love, his bike, in case the opportunity arose.
And as you can see, Frank created an opportunity.
