After supper, it was time for two sets of awards: Friday's Long Distance Race and today's Don Rumble Memorial.
Starting with the Distance Race, MC Dave Hansman presents the blue 3rd-place pennants to John (r) and Dolores de Boer.
...

The MC himself and his wife, Carol, took 2nd place.

Dave congratulates Ross Jamieson (and his absent crew, John Simmonds) on being Most Improved.

Shades of 1984 when Julia and Al Schonborn last teamed up to win the Cruise Race - on Trout Lake.
...

And then it was on to the Don Rumble where Al Nichols and Ken Nethercott (r) beat their seed by two places and were given the Most Improved award. It later turned out that there had been a miscalculation: Andrew Haill and Lori Beehler had beaten their seed by three spots. (The latter had no complaints and I only note it here due my anal compulsion to keep records straight!)

Uncle Al and Michele took the runner-up pennants.

The late Don Rumble's daughter, Anne McNutt, then awarded the Don Rumble Memorial Trophy to Mark Taylor (l) and his brother, Paul.
But the night's awards were not done quite yet: Due to the winners' unavoidable absence at our AGM in January, we had to hold off ...
...

... until tonight, the presentation of the CWA's most prestigious trophy, the Don Davis Memorial Trophy which went
to Dave and Carol Hansman for their years of exceptional service to the Canadian Wayfarer Association and its sailors.
If I could think of a way to create a standing ovation on line, you would certainly get and deserve it, Carol and Dave!!!
...

While the band was setting up, some of us went out onto the west deck to enjoy a lovely sunset over Callander Bay.

Back indoors after his smoke and picture taking, Uncle Al chats with Cathy Jessup.
...

And to top the evening off, we had live music!!
...

Lead singer is Greg Jamieson (no relation to Ross). This was only part of the band (not sure of the name).
The rest were setting up for a hotel gig later that night.

Enthusiastic dancers, our Wayfarer ladies. Alas, we men (mostly?) wimped out.
...

But we did admire their moves!!
