First Annual Oriental Dinghy Regatta

Seeking to restart and reinvigorate their small boat program, Oriental Dinghy Club hosted the 1st Annual Oriental Open Dinghy Regatta on June 13. Bow to Stern Sailing Center provided the perfect venue and assisted in race committee duties.

A mixed fleet of thirteen boats sailed six races. The fleet ranged from Thistle and Lightning to Lasers with several Wayfarers, a Vanguard 15 and a Jet 14. Conditions were challenging with a strong and shifty northeasterly breeze providing some planning and a few PFD tests in the choppy over-sized seas. All of the competitors expressed their enthusiasm for an excellent day of sailboat racing.
