As the Lasers begin their run from #4 to #1, the Wayfarers reach across the lake ...

Near the end of the 2nd Y-Flyer beat, Steve (2546) crosses on starboard ahead of ...
...

... Jamie (2667) in a nice ...
...

... little puff.
...

Leading Lasers from right to left: Jacob, Kevin and Brad
...

Rick (l) and Jon are in hot pursuit.
...

Alas, Rick's puff soon passes.
...

But as they pass directly in front of Bob Steer on the Race Hut beach, it becomes apparent that Rick is in 4th. But wait ...
...
... now Jon has a puff. We shall see, I guess.
...

Jacob clings to the Laser lead over Kevin but ...
...

... for how long??!!
...

And here comes the ever dangerous Brad (l) gliding into ...
...

... contention.

As Julia (3854) starts to transfer the pole to complete a very functional spi gybe, Sue and Steph reach #4 and get set to follow suit.

While Julia completes some clean-up, Al patiently flies the chute while steering with his knees. Note how the SHADES transom
is dragging while Al is standing (of necessity!) so far aft. In a word, this is a good time for the crew to work fast!!
...

Sue and Steph (4677) work to complete their gybe as Jens and Sharon (7663) gurgle speedily towards ...
...

... their gybe at #4 with (l to r) Roger, Mike, Dave, John and Dwight not far behind.

Under the Race Hut cliff: Mike Morris drives as Paul Chesman takes pictures.
...

The wind has suddenly veered almost into the east, changing the W spi leg into a beam reach - for the moment. Still a lot of ...
...

... life left in Al's favourite spinnaker (8868) which Mike McNamara very kindly gave to Al at the 1992 Worlds at Hayling Island.
...

A lot of great memories attached to that chute for Uncle Al and Marc Bennett.
Looks pretty nice for a spi that was "used" even in 1992!!! Doesn't it???!!!
...

A lovely scene all around!!!
...

The Pumpkin Regatta at its finest!!
