Pole a bit too far aft as Mike and Kirk cruise on down towards #2? Notice how the whole spi strains to be further forward
while the foot points into the boat rather than down at the water.
...

Roger brings along a gust and makes his move on John.
...

Jeff and Vera looking ......
... great!
...

John and Dolores ride out a ...
...

... bit of a lull.
...

It's too close to call between Jeff (7220) and ...
...

... Roger as they ...
...

... pass the Hut. Roger keeps a good lookout as ...
...

... in front of him, the area off the moorings is pretty congested.

At last, John has the wind back but he'll need to go some to catch Mike who has just gybed.
...

Right of way here? - Easy! The Laser is on starboard, while Roger is not.
...

Len, too, concentrates on the mess of boats ahead.
...

Sooner or later, Kim will decide that this is more work than flying the chute. Meanwhile, Rick cruises towards his Race 3 finish.
...

This shot shows nicely, just how streaky the winds were. Len and Andy (6732) have completed a nice spi gybe,
and Dave and Kim (4782) have just passed Kieran's Radial.

The final Wayfarer beat has begun. Al (dark green hull) will tack before the next W rounds, so that some of his lead is on each tack. This leg is not a square beat but rather a virtual port-tack fetch to the finish, so Al won't need much starboard time before he's positioned between his biggest threats and the line.
...

No pictures of Brad (178654) beating out brother, Kevin, to win this race, nor of Jon Dietrich placing 3rd, his best finish of the series.
But here we do see Rick Goldt (38585) and Jacob Prapavessis, with Rick about to ...
...

... nail down a 4th ahead of ...
...

... Jacob.
...

Relief! The finish line puts Frank Harmgardt out of his misery - an 8th, his worst placing of the weekend.
...

Doug Carey once more won the Hobie 14 duel.
