...

A glorious morning - both on shore and on the water! Looks like a shift coming up from astern as both Dave (4782) and Len have gybed, yet another thing for poor Dwight and Pat to have to deal with after the debacle off the Race Hut a few moments ago.
...

Jens (7663) was well placed for this latest shift and has moved past John (7351) into 2nd place.
...

The race for 4th place is wide open: (l to r) Len, Dave (spinnaker gets used at last!!!!), Dwight, Roger, Sue, Mike
...

Dave (l) makes his move while Dwight (4606) having finally worked his way to windward in the previous wind slant, is put behind the wall of sails yet again by this latest shift. It's one of those races that everyone has from time to time at Fanshawe. Grin and bear it is all you can do!
...

While Mike pulls away into 4th place, Rae is getting valuable spinnaker gybe experience aboard ...
...

... Invasion (7700). Y-Flyers stick to the east shore on their second beat: (l to r) Robert, Kevin, Steve
...

Everyone pretty much set at last. Len (l) could well be saying: "Be patient, lads! I'm ...
...

... bringing you some wind!"
...

A lovely view from the Race Hut beach as many sails pass the mouth of Wye Creek.

The Laser race looks to very close as Jon (179167), his dad Steve (175246) and Brad (178654) fight over the lead, while ...
...

... Wayfarers, Len (6732), Dwight (4606) and Roger battle it out at close quarters as well.
...

See, Kim! Now this isn't so hard, is it??!!
...

Sue (4677) and Mike bring John (7351) some wind! Oh joy!!! No doubt, as far as John is concerned, mark 1 can't get there soon enough!!
...

Some rare close racing in the Open Fleet where Mark Anderson (6271) holds a narrow lead over Peter (2812) and Drew.
...

Mark #1: usually a horror of dead spots and crazy shifts - especially with the wind blowing directly onto or off this cliff. So, on balance,
this close-reach parade on what was supposed to be a beat is not - by a long chalk - the worst that could happen here!!
(l to r) John, Jeff (7220), Sue, Jens, Mike, Roger (7700), Len, Dave, Dwight (It has not been a good leg for Eclairelle!!!)

The second Y-Flyer run to #1: Ed (maroon hull) waves to the fans as he and Richard (2794) pursue ...
...

... Pierre Dignard and his spinnaker down the east shore. Leading comfortably, Uncle Al (3854) will have to watch out for starboard Laser, Sorin, as he and Julia patiently wait for a nice port-tack knock that will let them tack towards #4 at a more favourable angle.
