the
2002 North American Wayfarer Rally
Burton Island State Park, Lake Champlain * July 11-14
photos 12: Sunday 14 July

..

No sign of our merry times here the previous evening.
...

As a person who lives barefoot around boats, I did love this sign - especially the add-on!
...

The Pedersens are packed and ready to leave. Even a Wayfarer won't hold

all of the gear in these three carts, so it looks like someone will be taking the ferry!
...

Margie McKelvey smiles at the thought of being in this beautiful spot with ...
...

... Bill Harkins.
...

A pleasant sail back to haul-out for Ab faB.
...

Soon they are rounding the end of St. Albans Point where the ramp is just around the corner.
...

A nice little breeze has sprung up, letting the Rally pennant fly proudly, as Margie snaps one last shot of Bill and W2526.
...

Kevin and Frank were out on Lake Champlain where Kevin was at last getting to try out Wildwood's spinnaker and related gear. Kevin had asked me to get pictures of this momentous occasion, but by the time I got back to the marina after breakfast in that little place with the No shirt No shoes No problem welcome, they were a mere dot on the distant horizon. This called for the only time I ever used the digital zoom plus optical zoom on the Wayfarer camera. A quick look at the Instructions Manual, and I got the above photo which is pretty impressive since it was kind of a hazy day.

...

I think that is ...
...

... Woods Island in the background.
...

Some other sailors were up early, too, on this Sunday morning.
...

A romantic cruise for Ivan and Suzanne while poor Charlotte gets the ferry and three cart loads of gear??
...

Bill and Margie exit the marina under jib alone, but soon ...
...

... have all sails set as they, too, head for haul-out.
...

Our "friend" in the gaff-rigger is reefed today.
...

Having aired out the spinnaker to Kevin's satisfaction, Frank and Kevin proceed to ...
...

... check on the upwind settings.
