after breakfast, had
a (fairly) quick stop at
L.L. Bean in
Freeport to buy some

intermittent rain plus endless delays at toll booths
(the only bad part
of this whole week!). By late afternoon, Julia and I
had reached our
planned overnight stopping point in Utica, NY. The

had picked up on the way down promised a room for only

Cruise Afterglow
Thanks again to you and Julia. It was great to meet and spend such pleasant times with you both. Ginny and I really enjoyed the cruise and look forward to seeing you again. We stopped off at Mississauga on Sunday morning and got some helpful tips from Hans. Mrs. Hans offered us "lunch" and then made a veritable feast for us. (Could you let me know the correct spelling of her given name so we can send a thank-you card?) All the best, Chuck -----

Hi, Chuck: It
surely
was a glorious time. What marvellous luck for Julia
and me, that we met
such great kindred spirits. We, too, look forward to
spending more time
with you. I've been meaning to email you and thank you
for the great
times, but have been seriously busy with web work, the
CL regatta and
editing and choosing from among the 600 Maine pics on
my digital cards
- have just reached day three (Seguin Island and Bold
Dick) and its 197
pics (I need a nap first, though!). Tim France has
already sent a few
(small) pics, one of which is very nice of us under
spi off Seguin Is.
... Mrs. Hans is called Mudl (short for Erdmute). You
must let me know
some time, what Hans suggested and what you plan to
do. Must rush,
lunch and a nap are calling me. Best regards,
Uncle Al (W3854) |
