On a day that was expected to be overcast but ...
...

... with ample, generally westerly, winds, our plan was to head east, diagonally across the river to Potters Beach on Grindstone Island on another hot summer day.
...

André and Ralph (3098) and Tony and Mary were out early to test the conditions.
...

The winds, while not overpowering, were however gusty, especially near the land. Above, Tom and Diane Erickson, are recovering from a near capsize after a gust hit while Tom was busy smiling for Monique who was on the pier taking pictures.
...

Everything back to normal ...
...

... Tom and Diane continue to ...
...

... head out in ...
...

... Possum.
...

Tom and Nel Graefe get set to ...
...

... cast off.
...

Now all they need is some ...
...

... wind.
...

Margie has the helm as Bill ...
...

... hoists the jib.
...

Increasing clouds are welcome as they take some of the heat from the day as ...
...

... Tom and Diane ...
...

... check out ...
...

... a perfect ...
...

... sailing day.
...

We're on our way downwind ...
...

... towards Grindstone Island.
...

Full speed ahead on this lovely ...
...

... hull speed day.
...

Kit and Patsy off to leeward

Tom and Diane off our bow
