Subject: Do you have a story to share from Cedar Point?

Greetings Rally friends,

Before getting too far into thinking about next year's rally, we would appreciate your pictures and any stories you would like to share from Cedar Point.  We need your written accounts to go along with the pictures so that others visiting the web sites and receiving newsletters can fully appreciate what a fantastic thing we have going at our yearly North American Rally.  Send your stuff directly to Uncle Al, Tom or me.

Each time we've gone to a new location I continue to be surprised at how much different the real experience is from that which I had imagined. Who would have thought that we would be camping in northern New York during a record breaking heat wave.  Yet, in spite of the oppressive heat and humidity, strong afternoon breezes consistently arrived off of Lake Ontario kicking up a thumping chop on the St. Lawrence that kept us cool from spray over the bow.  I think it was one of the few Rallies where Margie and I really didn't mind being soaked much of the time--the thought of donning foul weather clothing hardly crossed our minds.  On the other hand, being able to throw a reef into the mainsail sure made life more pleasant.

On the other side of the equation, our group becomes closer knit and more familiar with one another with each passing Rally.  We are a family that enjoys camping and sailing together and we delight in the addition of new participants each year. Our numbers are significant.  Sailing as a group we attract considerable local interest--something that is good for both the class and dinghy sailing in general. In truth, I've become accustomed to hearing special words of appreciation from newcomers who marvel at the friendliness and openness of the Wayfarer group.  I sometimes forget how special all of you are and how important you are to both me and Margie.

With these thoughts to reflect upon we'll sign off.  Attached are a few photos.
