By the time Alan and I had our boats launched and returned to the Lighthouse Point Beach to pick up our crews who had returned cars and trailers to the campsites, the rest of the gang had disappeared somewhere along the green lines indicated above. Alan voted for a run through the Hole in the Wall (red line) and back - which we did and enjoyed greatly in some of the week's best winds.   - for full-size chart image, click here

I think Alan and Mary had already gone through by the time we got there.

Impressive looking, isn't it???   - click here for full-size pic

Three swimmers off to port

Looking not overly nervous at the helm is Uncle Al, resplendent in his Dave Hansman T-shirt creation and the new REBEL cap given him by his helm at the Rebel Nationals a few days ago on lovely Greenwood Lake in the mountains of New Jersey.
...

Once clear of the Hole, we relocated Alan and Mary and spent an enjoyable hour or so, beating back to ...
...

... "our" beach at Lighthouse Point. Julia (l) and Mary will hold the boat head to wind to let Alan get the main down and ...
...

... furl the jib in comfort.
...

Alan searches for his anchor which he knows he left here somewhere!!
...

The beach is packed on this hot, sunny day as Mary supervises.
...

Julia and Mary share some amusing tales while holding W7349 as Alan gets everything stowed away for the night. No fear of anything getting stolen here, even without a cover - though I never leave PFD's anywhere in view, the temptation and universal usefulness of such items might well be an overwhelming temptation.
...

Well into our second beer, the rest of the group returns from unknown points north and west. (Note: Andrew Haill has clarified those unknown points as follows: "after the lunch at the beach near Patterson Island as shown by your arrow, we went through the Hole in the Wall, turned right, and then kind of split up between those heading back, and those going for a longer sail.")
...

Kit and Patsy (1037) ...
...

... lead the way.
...

They're only here til tomorrow when they leave for the Worlds in Denmark,
so we have to take their picture while we may.
...

Sailing incognito is Dave Hansman who has brought
his other (glass for cruising among these rocks) Wayfarer - W2178 Windshaker.
...

Waiting for Julia to bring beer from the car, Uncle Al has had ample time to make SHADES (l) shipshape for the night.
Julia, Mary and Alan gaze upon this rare sight in stunned admiration.
...

"Rats! Where has Carol disappeared to? She was in here just half an hour ago!!"
...
Oh! There she is, with Julia. She came by land. Wasn't there to be a signal "one if by land, two if ..."?

Joan has the Blue Mist helm while ...

...

Only two weeks after coming all the way from Maryland to North Bay to enjoy Ontario's north ...
...

... Tony Krauss and Mary Abel are back. And we're glad that they are!!
...

Dave can't seem to get enough of this solo sailing.
...

But now, he's finally making his landfall.
