Alan (7346) and Dave start what we expect to be a close-hauled, port-tack fetch to Franklin Island.

Hugging the shore of Pleasant Island? at the mouth of the Sound are ...
...

... Bill and Margie. I believe those are the Pancakes in the background here - a sight that came just in time for Julia,
who needed a bathroom break, and who remembered that the Pancakes have such a facility.
...

So, SHADES made a (fairly) quick detour to the Pancakes while the fleet, led by ...
...

... Dave Hansman, sailed away.
...

At extreme zoom from a relieved SHADES, we can see Franklin Island emerging from the haze,
the latter being another ominous sign of less wind today?
...

One more extreme zoom shot from SHADES before the spinnaker goes up.
...

Meanwhile, other photographers recorded the fleet's arrival at Franklin Island. There were some rocky shortcuts to be had, provided you were cautious and kept a good look-out like Mary Abel is doing.

Rocks and ...
...

... yet more rocks!
...

With SHADES (red spi) looming ...
...

... ever larger on the aft horizon, Lori and Andrew take no chances, popping their chute as well.
...
And they did look lovely as seen from SHADES.

The thought of a nice spinnaker reach appeals to Julia, who has handed the tiller off to Al. Regatta Bay dead ahead.
...

Dave and Carol (l) are the first to make their landfall - with Tony (4105) and Bill right behind.
...

And right there as well are (l to r) Joan, Andrew, Alan and Tom.
...

Aboard SHADES, we held the chute across sandy bottom to within 50 feet of the lovely beach.
We were hoping that someone would capture our neat arrival in pixels, but that was not to be.
