Subject: Apostle Island Rally/Cruise - update #2

Hi, Apostle Island Cruisers:

We have set the dates of the Apostle Island Rally/Cruise for the week of August 13 to 20 and hope that you have set these dates aside. The Apostle Island Rally/Cruise week will consist of day sails, an overnight cruise to one of the Apostle Islands and social evenings. We hope it will be a true and exciting East-meets-West get-together.

We have now secured sites at the Red Cliff Campground. The Red Cliff Band is expanding their casino and it was not until now that they were able to assure us that campsites would be available. Chuck Jordan has tentatively reserved campsites at the Red Cliff Campground for the week August 13-20, 2011. The campground representative asked us to confirm how many camp sites are needed. They preferred that Chuck contact them as opposed to each of us calling for a reservation, so we need to know your plans. However, you can also reserve directly with Jim Bellinger at Red Cliff at 715-779-3718. If you do reserve directly, tell Jim you are part of the Wayfarer group and advise us that you are attending the rally. You will be able to beach your boat at the campground.

To the best of our current knowledge, the campground fees are:
Tent camping: $25/night
Boat ramp use: $5
Transient boat slip: $25/day
Beaching overnight: $5/day
For those who want to stay in a motel or condo, we suggest contacting Winfield Inn (715-779-3252) conveniently located just south of Red Cliff. Chuck and Ginny intend to rent one or two units as their kids and other friends may stay there during the rally week. There are kitchens and grounds there, that will be available for group dinners for rally participants.

On the social side, Chuck is promising a charcoal bratwurst roast, etc. so the group can get a feel for Wisconsin summer fare. Your ideas in this area will be appreciated. More information will follow as we get closer to the rally dates.

We now need your commitment. Please reply by April 17 on the following:

Names of people attending,

Dates arriving and departing (you can come for the whole week, part of the week or more than a week),
Name and number of your boat (If you want a come without a boat, I know there will be lots of opportunities for you to sail),
Type of accommodation you require.

We are looking forward to seeing you in Wisconsin.

Andrew, Chuck and Alan

Uncle Al, please post the dates on the Wayfarer Calendar.  All others, please spread the word on the Apostle Island Rally/Cruise.
