Sonny Usilton was editor of the Kent County News and loved sailing. He did not like handicaps, though, and felt that the first boat down the river to Can 5 was the winner of the Down River Race. As a result, 1st to finish on elapsed time gets the Sonny Usilton, presented by the Kent County News after Sonny’s untimely death.
