the 2008 Rock Hall Weekend
Saturday 21 June - 1

Saturday morning of the Regatta: Every year I've been here (since 2004), all the mornings have been exactly like this - sunny and warm.
Well, I do seem to recall one Sunday morning that was overcast for a couple of hours.
...

As always, registration runs like a well-oiled machine. The fact that we could pre-register
and order meals, T-shirts, etc. by credit card on line this year, made it easier for all concerned.

To some, this may be "old hat", but Richard (r) found it novel and probably puzzling??
...

Back to the boats and get ready to race: Uncle Al just missed getting a shot of this fellow perched on his masthead fly.
...

63 boats will be racing in 8 classes on two courses!!
A potential logistical nightmare that the Rock Hall YC always seems to handle with supremely efficient ease!

Eric Manley heads out in his Laser Radial.
...

Trevor Prior will start this regatta with three firsts before losing by one point to a John Bates come-back.

Eric (l) and Trevor one more time

Marc and Julie dawdle on out.
...

Defending U.S. and Rock Hall Regatta Wayfarer champions, John and Dolores de Boer, look alert and set to rock and roll.
...

Julie takes the helm and Marc doesn't dare look???
...

Actually, I think it's more repairs being made to dear old Pub Crawl.
...

Richard Watterson heads out to the first course race of his career.
...

Having loaned Mary to Richard W., Tony has called up Casey Gish from the minor leagues.
Casey seemed to be having a great time and we have every hope that he'll remain in Wayfarers with us!!
...

Brennan Drysdale (182827) will be one of three boats fighting over series 2nd among the Lasers.
...

Mitch Grieb (153046) is the one who will end up grabbing that 2nd.
I do believe that's a Prindle coming along on port, which means it must be Glenn Ross and Ian Mcallister.
