lake for signs of sailable wind. There's a strip of breeze along the shore but nothing once you get 50 yards off the shore. ... |

leap into action if only the wind will co-operate! ... |
Nick is not bored - not when he
can read his latest Tim Dorsey masterpiece Orange Crush featuring once again
that lovable homicidal hero Serge A. Storm. Hilarious stuff if you have
a sick mind like Nick and I do. So far I have only read Hammerhead Ranch Motel of which I
was reminded while staying in Nick's condo. In one of my favourite
scenes,
Serge - claiming to be a resort's hired lotion boy - has slathered an
arch-villain, a really nasty piece of work, with sun-tan lotion and
then set him on fire. The screaming fireball runs towards a pool just
across the road where a geezerish guard slams the gate in his face and
announces: "Residents only!"
