Wow, what a nice day it turned out to be, in spite of the forecast! We had one of the nicest breezes ever for this event. It was fantastic to see 16 classic boats out there! It is not often in a three lap race that you tack just three times and jibe just three times!

In terms of the racing, there were not many passing lanes and the relative efficiencies of the boats’ upwind characteristics versus reaching and running were not very tested.

Sorry, but putting the word “Results” in the title is a little teaser. We had three boats that may not have sailed in accordance with the Sailing Instructions and we are attempting to resolve that.

We hope to have it figured out by 7 tomorrow at Harbor Grill! See you there!

Cheers,
Paul

Just arrived home in Oakville. Sorry to miss the get-together> Will try to be there next year. Any hope of having the awards Sunday night next year? Have copied my fine crew, Tom Goldsmith (tcgold6@gmail.com) who plans to be there with me next year, too.

Bad news all around on our photos front where we thought Tom had gotten hundreds of great action shots but only about a dozen made it onto the card – some from right after our launch and some post-race. Perhaps Tom did not give the camera enough finger? Try again next year, perhaps with a more usable camera.

Maria, I trust you got better results? Let me know when and where we can see them.

To all of you sailors, it was lovely to be with you. Special thanks to our hosts, Paul and Dawn.

Best regards,

Hi Al,

It truly was a pleasure to meet you and I really enjoyed our multiple chats. Hopefully we will get another chance to do that!

Attached are the two pics I managed to grab. Not very good I’m afraid and you and Tom were hiding!

I was bummed to hear that you started about a half hour before your official start time. You looked really good with the kite up and were catching us pretty quickly!

If you are ever in the area I hope you look us up!

Cheers,
Paul
