Sunday racing pics - 2
(mostly) by Sharon and Lee Nowak

...

Tim and David cruise along the north shore.
......

Joe (W1115) threads his way through a batch of Interlakes (l to r) Steve (1302), Brooke (1380) and Bob (1332).
...

Joe in Sunday's other race - this one with young Noelle as crew.
...

Similarly, 8-year-old Erika is crewing for Harold Whitcomb (W2304)
who is about to tack out of Brian Main's (4160) backwind.
...

A placid Sunday morning spinnaker run for those galloping geezers, Bob and Peter.
...

Perhaps not entirely placid though, as they need to keep clear of Craig and Joe (161) who are on starboard. Once done with that little chore, Bob and Peter (3975) will be well placed to move past race leader, Joe DeBrincat, who is about to be briefly blanketed by his Interlake namesake. This picture illustrates very nicely how rule 16 can apply: Let us say that 3975, on port, is just nicely keeping clear of 161 who is on starboard. Now the wind has just veered, putting 3975 on a beam reach, which means 161 is lifted significantly. 161 can, however, respond to that lift only to the extent that he won't prevent 3975 from keeping clear.

(l to r) John Fenton, R... Rogers, Bob Bradley (1332), Tom Katterheinrich, Matt Heywood
...

Ryan Mabie cruises towards a 3rd-place finish.
...

Tom Katterheinrich on his way to a 2nd as he crosses Mr. Rogers, a 2nd that will leave him with a huge 4-point lead atop the Sunfish fleet with only one race to go. He would need to self-destruct in the finale to lose this series - something he somehow accomplished. Must have been most frustrating!!
...

Gail (24186) sets off in pursuit of Ryan in the Sunfish, while Andy Nixon (1318) duels with Brooke Smith.
...

Speaking of duels, here we have Ryan (80024) and Don Jones nose to nose.
...

And those two are presently joined by Gail (24186).
Meanwhile Dorothy Rose and Bill Rohlin enjoy a peaceful Rebel run.
...

Team Grinnin Gregger - (l to r) Mike Sharkey, Felix Artmann, Tim Imber - prepares to ...
...

... make its post-regatta landfall.
...

Also done for the day are Eric Robb and his dad, Neil.
...

As Brian Main gets set to dock, Mike Wolf prepares to toss the painter.
...

No crew here for Gail to send forward.
...

Joe and Noelle arrive back after a fine race.
