Nice sunburn, Catie!

A few seconds after the start of the Rebels' final race. The Interlakes are already halfway down their run from #4 to #5. Wind conditions are largely what they were for the previous race, and accordingly, Al and Marc (3923) have seen no reason to change their race plan which was to play the south shore. Here they tack towards a gust coming off the south shore.

Awaiting the Sunfish countdown: Series leader, Tom Katterheinrich, looks upwind to see what's coming. Hidden behind Tom's sail is Matt Heywood who is about to stage an incredible comeback: In an 8-boat fleet, he is 5 points behind the leader, entering the final race. Winning this race won't be nearly enough, he'll need a collapse by the leader as well. Amazingly, Matt gets it done!

Gail Turluck watches for wind developments.

John Fenton (79660) and Don Jones do likewise.

The nameless Mr. Stephenson

The Interlake run, meanwhile, is producing excitement as well:
Don (spinnaker) and Ben (helm) Wilson are holding off Bob Bradley with Betsy and Kevin Bracy with CeCe (1248).
...

A lovely scene as the Rebels work up their beat to #4 while the Interlakes are nearing the end of their run.
