boats as we drifted around with little steerage way, the run looked

Ironically, hitting the
mark forced Al (10864) to do a turn that led him and Sue into a
mini-breeze coming up from astern which in turn allowed them to sail
for a little zephyr coming in from the SE. That wind held and allowed
Al and Sue to finish a shortened course first ahead of Peter Rahn and
son, Alex. Early leaders, Rob and Daniel Wierdsma held 3rd ahead of
Conestoga's Leo and Joanne Van Kampen while Colin and Heather Junkin
completed the top five.
