After a second beat where
they picked everything right, Marc and Al have taken
the lead over |
... a good race with Flying
Scot #812.
(l to r) FS3347,
Peter (2nd), Nick (3rd), Richard (5th) and Gale
(4th) with a Flying Scot just behind him. |
We've just passed the
start/finish line and are nearing the gate for the
final time. |
One last shot of the Flying
Scot gurgling along nicely right astern of us, and
then the camera goes back into the aft tank. |
By the end of the second run,
Marc and Al (r) have systematically ground
down the opposition, and are about to round onto the
final beat with a healthy edge over second-place
Peter (second from right). |
Al (far right) tacks
so that he will be on the rhumbline when Peter
rounds to start his last beat. Thus Al will be
positioned between Peter and the finish line and
protected from virtually anything the wind gods
might throw at him and Marc. |
It's an impressive 4th-place
finish - first in non-spinnakers - for Jim Lingeman
with Mike Tigue. |
Still hiking hard through
every puff are Richard and Michele who ... |
... cross the line ... |
...in 5th place. |
Gale and Taylor follow in 6th
place, just ahead of ... |
... Joe DeBrincat who ... |
... gets a nice puff as he
crosses ... |
... the finish line at ... |
... the favoured RC boat end. |
A close race with FS3360 for
... |
... Geoff Edwards who ... |
... takes an 8th as the
eagle-eyed RC looks on. |
A slight detour for Robert
and Tony who have to bear off for ... |
... FS4921 on their way to an
11th, just ahead of ... |
... Mo Metcalf and Andrew
Parks, who ... |
... hang on - literally, here
- to take 12th in this race. |
