Dave Hepting ...

... shoots the windward mark nicely.
...

Then it's Ted - sailing with Peter Hylen today -  just laying the mark perfectly.
...

Mo carries a nice puff around the mark.
...

Nick (864) makes that lovely Mike Mac chute work harder than it should have to by letting the boat heel to leeward.
He should get his nice, big crew, Joe, out onto the windward deck to balance his boat correctly as Robert (10195) is doing.
...

The Scots reach the gate for the first time. They, too, are enjoying a good, close race.
...`

A dead run on port for Uncle Al means that anyone they meet will have right of way, and he is keeping a good lookout for the Scots who are just starting their second beat. SHADES, meanwhile, is superbly balanced with a slight windward heel helping the spinnaker to stay filled.

...

Eddy Kraft (6751) continues to challenge second-place Peter Rahn near the end of the run.
...

A gybe-and-douse for Marc and Al who have decided to round ...
...

... the right-hand end of the gate.
...

Starboard tack being knocked, SHADES takes off into a nice puff on port with a comfortable lead over ...
...

... Peter and ...
...

... Frank, who ...
...

... will follow Al around ...
...

... the right-hand mark.
...

(l to r) Jim, Richard and Joe in hot pursuit.
...

As is Nick.
...

Gale (4106) continues to hold 3rd over Eddy, as 4106 prepares to try ...
...

... the left-hand mark.
...

A lovely rounding although the sail trimming has been a bit over-enthusiastic: both sails are already
close-hauled while the wind is barely abeam, i.e. the sails should only be half-way in at this point.
