Duelling cameras as we head across Milne Bay ..........

Dave and John continue to lead comfortably. ..........

At this point. cameras got stowed as we prepared for the serious task of jockeying for position as four crews were trying to pick up their plastic envelopes from the waypoint 5 crew at more or less the same time. ..........

Having made their pick-up smoothly, Sue and Steph (above) kept their spinnaker as they began the final leg to a finish on the McNutts' beach. Keeping the chute on this  rather close-winded leg was a bit of a gamble although ... ..........

...  one saving grace was the fact that the SIs required us to pass on the east side of Rolph Island. So the worst that could happen was that they'd be blown down further east of Rolph than they needed to go. ..........

Al (camera boat in this pic), Roger and Tony followed in short order. Note that it's a fairly close-hauled rhumbline to the lee side of Rolph Island. ..........

Scooting nicely along in a seemingly secure 2nd are John and Ross (l). ..........

Hard to imagine that Julia and Al (SHADES bow left) would end up finishing in a near dead heat with Dave and Kim who are already nearly at Rolph Island in the photo above.  - click here for larger image ..........

Dolores got this view from a spectator boat as we neared Rolph. ..........

Lonely in last are Dave and Carol who nonetheless gave their spinnaker this challenging go. ..........
