the 2007 Rock Hall
Weekend Saturday: on the water - 5 & post-race pics mostly by Uncle Al ... |
Peter Bell rounds onto the
next
beat just ahead of Alex Schlegel ... ... |
... with Ted Weihe (210)
close
astern, and ... ... |
... Clay Taylor (49) close
enough for buoy room? Meanwhile, the 5-0-5's have just
started another
race in which ... ... |
... Stergios Papadakis
(814)
fights it out bow to bow with ... ... |
... Henry Amthor (8012). ... |
Henry, who would win all
four
races, begins to edge away. ... |
Looks like Clay Taylor
(yellow
hull) did indeed end up with buoy room on Ted (210) who now tacks to clear his air as series winner, Randy Watson (301) rounds. ... |
Not too much later, a close
battle develops among ... ... |
... Randy (301), Ted (210)
and
Alex (202). ... |
In the 5-0-5 race, Henry
(8012)
has pulled into a nice safe leeward on Stergios (814) who
... ... |
... in turn is giving dirt
to
Nick Place (8865). ... |
Quite the puff for Mr.
Watson,
one that Ted in 210 seems not to be getting. ... |

No doubt the A Cats like
Christopher Brown (193) and ... ... |
... David Taylor are saying
to
themselves: ... |
"Now this ... ... |
... is more like it!!" ... |
As the third and final
Wayfarer
race of the day is about to get underway, Nick and Julie

In the Wayfarer finale, Al
got
these three shots near the finish, once he had resigned
himself to the
fact that ... ... |
... there would be no
catching
Nick and Julie (864) who had however ... ... |
... lost John and Dolores
(7351)
who had rounded 3rd onto the final beat, tacked
immediately to
starboard, gotten a juicy lift, and ended up beating Nick
in a "foot
race" to the finish. Well done, John and Dolores!! And
Nick and Julie!! ... |
The African Queen look

Wayfarers "moored" for the night. ... |
And then it was time for
the
festivities: the Rock Hall Yacht Club was celebrating its
70th
anniversary with a barbecue dinner and dance. The whole
thing was too
much fun for Al to take the time for many pictures. (l to r) Uncle Al,

As you can see, Mike
