Saturday morning at SHADES' Oakville home ...
..

... did not look promising. A fine day on which to do one's sailing ...
..

... in the cozy warmth of the TS&CC at the AGM!

(l to r) Fred Black, Thomas Vendely, Barry Hitchcock, George Blanchard, Dave Hansman, Kit Wallace and Mike Codd

Frank Goulay (l) and Uncle Al display the Storer Trophy which they won along with Marc Bennett,
while MC, Mike Codd looks on and Leanne slaves away in the kitchen, preparing our just desserts!

..

George Blanchard presents the Red Herring Award to Kit Wallace for best exemplifying the W spirit in 2004.
..

Clockwise, starting with Julia Schonborn nearest the camera:
Patsy and Kit Wallace, Kim Bergevin, Frank Goulay, Bill Fyfe, David and Carol Hansman.

..

(l to r at the table nearest the camera) Dorothy Brockbank, Barry Hitchcock, Darlene Codd, Marg Buhlman and Fred Black (still working on his AGM Minutes!!). Special thanks to Darlene who put the whole AGM tirelessly and flawlessly together, and to Marg who again provided the computerized projector that allowed our 2004 events pictures to run throughout the evening as background. (l to r at the window table) John and Jane Cawthorne with Lou Scaglione.
..

(l to r) Trudy and Don Davis, Mudl and Hans Gottschling, Thomas Vendely. Two thumbs up for Hans who went all the way to Guelph to give the Davises a ride to this AGM and allow us to enjoy their always sparkling company!!
..

The window table one more time: (l to r) John and Jane, Lou, Reg and Mrs. Bunt, Mrs. Lou Scaglione.
..
The weather being what it was, a number of major trophy winners missed their moments of glory:
* John and Dolores de Boer were snowed in in London and could not be present to accept the CWA's most prestigious award, the George Smith Trophy for outstanding contributions to our Class over the years
* Paul and Alan Laderoute were Rookies of the Year
* Most Improved
sailors of 2004 were Mark and Paul Taylor
* the best excuse for absence was made by Alan Parry (England) and Jim Fraser (Nova Scotia) who won the Ted Davis Memorial Trophy for their fine, illustrated account of last June's cruise in Newfoundland with the all-time prize-winning title
Through the Dildo Run to the Toads Asses
* the Lansdown-O'Brien Spittoon for outstandingly questionable feats of seamanship had a lean year, and was finally awarded to Ed Morysiak in absentia for a capsize that underscored a dire need for W4601 to upgrade its buoyancy capabilities.

Hi Al,

Have you recuperated from the weekend? I put a page of photos together. Would you have more photos from the rest of the gang? I would like to make another page. It would make nice memories to print them out. I saved this page at 50%. It takes me a long time to send and receive over the phone line. Whoever wants to print it out should have a good copy.

Take care,

Mudl
