Looking down towards the water which still has an off-shore breeze like yesterday's. Again, no sailing pics from Uncle Al since there were the odd whitecaps and a second new crew for Uncle Al. In the end, the winds lost much of their life before we even got started at 10 a.m. The first of two races gave us winds of perhaps 4 to 8 knots, while the finale brought us patchy stuff that at times reached a rollicking four knots.

After hauling out, Uncle Al got SHADES de-rigged and covered fairly quickly in anticipation of the long drive, one he expected to break somewhere in New York State. Al ended up surrounded by Hamptons (sort of like giant Snipes, see photo above) which he had never seen before but which had a fine fleet here, all of them seemingly well sailed and certainly very well looked after. And a friendly bunch they were, too, not even flinching when, after accepting their offer of a beer (above), I confessed I was not a Hampton but a Wayfarer, albeit a very thirsty one!
