... Charlie and John McCoy (514) have already tacked on. Note that Tom and Kate's port tack has not lasted long as they met starboard tacker, Steve Kistler (600) and are now doing a crash tack with Laura(?) about to get tea-bagged on her trapeze??? If Tom had had time to think, he might well have chosen to bear away behind 600 and keep to the favoured tack??

A second or two later: The fun continues. Steve (600) has tacked away from Tom (710) and will now be getting dirt from Charlie (far left). It might well have paid Steve to hold starboard for a few seconds longer when a tack to port would have left him with clear air. Meanwhile, Ian Twinn and Nancy Younan (706) appear to be getting ready to tack in order to keep clear of Tom (710). I guess they won't be sad to leave this tack, on which they have to be pointing 60° lower than Charlie at the moment!!!!
