Alas! We have no picture of Julie and Nick (above) being second Wayfarer across the finish line where they discovered that the RC had a sense of humour: As Nick and Julie were about to cross the finish line, they heard the usual warning to the scorer: "Wayfarer 864 ..." The word "over!" then came as expected, but was followed, after a pregnant pause, by a surprise: "early!!" Some of us probably thought this was more hilarious than others. |
