the Clark Lake YC Fall Regatta
Saturday on shore

as seen & recorded by Uncle Al
.. ..

Saturday arrives mostly sunny and not too cold.
...

Lots of work at the registration desk as the bulk of our 66 entries roll in.
...

Tim checks that all the required signal flags are present and accounted for.
...

Larry Schmida and crew deliver the marks to the RC boat ...
...

... as boat preparations begin in earnest.
...

The club's waterfront: As Hubert Dauch's Black Magic starts down the ramp,
a hot fleet of Sunfish, including the World Champion, is poised on the lawn.
...

Lasers need to be parked with sail up ... but on the windward side of the dock????
...

A typically lovely Fall day at the Clark Lake YC as ...
...

... the pre-race lunch makes its appearance.
...

A light and variable, generally westerly wind gives ...
...

... food for thought.
...

Last-minute preparations and critique.
...

The Wayfarer table hard at lunch.
...

12 noon: the Skipper's Meeting is brought to order by Tim Dowling who points out some amendments ...
...

... to a rapt ...
...

..audience.
...

Pre-race jitters?
...

Saturday evening's after dinner entertainment was long but excellent: Michael LeButt (sorry about the picture but Al was simply too exhausted to remember the camera until it was almost too late!) presented a marvellous multi-media show on sailing in and the history of the Great Lakes, entitled Voyaging on Inland Seas. Thanks, Michael!!
