the North
Bay
Wayfarer Weekend 2006 Trout Lake Poker Race - 3 photos by Rob Greenfield, Uncle Al and Dave Hansman |
As we begin a
long
stretch along the north shore towards our final
waypoint in Milne Bay,
the passage inside the infamous Garbage Island, scene
of hundreds of
racing heartbreaks in the form of unpredictable shifts
and calms, looms
ahead. Looks like John will risk the shortcut, a must
for nostalgia's
sake, even though today, we have the option of sailing
around the
outside of Garbage Island. Al and Julia, meanwhile,
have decided a
little spinnaker fun is in order, while Tony and Mary
(4105) continue
in relax mode.
