Happy Memories of Button Bay
photos by Uncle Al who wishes to explain that - to keep the layout
manageable - these pics are grouped by size and shape first,
and within their group, in chronological order.

Dick Harrington with Margie Cervenik (W887, Blue Mist) and Tom and Diane Erickson (W275, Possum) beat out of Button Bay into the remnants of the morning's southwesterly breeze with the Adirondacks  as a lovely backdrop.

Annemarie Pedersen assured us that the many snakes (both on land and in the water!) were harmless - and cute, too, as you can see if you look carefully at the above photos.
.....
Brenda and Jim (left) study the menu at Rosie's with the intensity of Frank Dye studying a chart while Tom and Diane hang on Dick's every word.
.....
Ivan Pedersen (above, left) and Jim Meara check out Saturday's proposed itinerary on the chart copieskindly provided for all by our august cruise leader, Dick Harrington, who can be seen in excellent light air form on the right.
.....
(above left) There'll be more pictures coming to this site - from Dick and Margie, for instance, who are manging both good trim and good shots. When you're cruising, you're allowed to sit in the "Darrell Hicks" position, leaning your back against the aft bulkhead, but for racing, the crew weight would be much further forward to lift the wider aft part of the boat out of the water and reduce the wetted surface.   (above right) Knowing the camera was near by, Ivan shows total concentration on the spinnaker while Annemarie steers a true course under the watchful eye of Charlotte.
.....
(left) Tom and Diane mange to combine fine form with relaxed sailing as the beautifully kept Possum begins to get the full benefit of the lake breeze from the north.  (right) The Pedersens return to Button Bay after 6+ hours of cruising.
.....
The Pedersens' (left), and Dick and Margie's wake shows what happens when you sail close-hauled with the board full up in shallow water as you near the shore
.....
Saturday was also Possum's last day at Button Bay so Tom (left) sailed her over to the ramp after dropping Diane off. Meanwhile, the bullrushes proved to be the best mooring spot on the shingle beach which made for a wet walk to shore (right) for Jim, Abbey and Brenda.
.....
(left) The welcoming committee of Suzanne Pedersen, Julia Schönborn and Mary Maarse await the tired mariners while John McClay (above, right) whose boat is still being resuscitated in New Hampshire, enjoyed the beautiful view from the little cliff that looks out over Button Bay.
