Getting "up" for the racing:

Joanne Kumpf was supposed to be Uncle Al's crew. But when Roger Shepherd's son, Carl, opted for a birthday party instead of crew for his dad, Joanne decided to ask Roger to sail with Al since she had tons of work to catch up on. And as you can see, she did!!!
.....
After a rainy night, we got a lovely, warm and eventually sunny morning!

Peter Every (left) and Ken Greywall start to prepare Mike Anspach's W4271.

One of our favourite yacht clubs as seen from the dinghy park.

You can tell that this was taken early on Saturday - before PRO, Bruce Nowak, started to develop that frazzled look common to the species. Meanwhile, George Blanchard looks at a bit of a loss what with no pressing duties to perform.

Exchanging the wisdom of the ages: USWA Skimmer editor, Bob Frick (left) and George Blanchard.

A volunteer from the kitchen checks out one of the regatta's top Rebel crews, Mary Vorel (17) (right) and her grandmother, Pat, who is a super tactician and crew!
...
Another favourite in the Rebel class was Dave Nickels, the class builder (left)
who was sharing the helming duties with his son-in-law, Tim Coles (right) this weekend

....
Still a few leftovers from the night's rain but all in all, Saturday was a lovely day with temperatures in the 20's Celsius!
.....
But by noon, some of the promised rain seemed to be coming closer.
....
Still, there was a nice WSW breeze keeping the national and class flags flying.
.....
The George Blanchard of Clark Lake, Ben Hassell (left), regales Mike Codd with a few of his many exciting tales.
.....
Ben, 81, helmed a Rebel and finished near the middle of a hot fleet!
.....
A sincere thank you to Ben from Uncle Al who was spared another night in a cold, damp tent when Ben invited him to sleep Saturday night in the spare bed in Ben's rented room above the club. And a wonderfully warm and comfortable night it was while outside a cold front blew in with lots of wind and rain!
