Sat 10 Feb: After a lengthy lunch hour postponement, a slight breeze has sprung up.
Note the beautiful new launch ramps which had to be extended after a lengthy drought in Central Florida.

Roger and Joanne (7700) keep an eye on the RC proceedings as do Mike Murto and Charlie Jensen (2945).
...

On a day like this, it pays to hang around the RC boat - especially since we are using a 6-5-go sequence.

About one minute after the start: After a fairly big jam-up at the RC-boat (favoured) end, Mike and Charlie (2945) have tacked to clear their air, as have John and Dolores (7351) - the latter look doomed by being in Mike's backwind. Bob Brown (1395) is busy doing penalty turns after a little contre-temps with Ed Kraft, and in the background, Butch Minson (3951) sets off up the beat on starboard.

John deBoer (left) begins to work through Mike Murto's backwind - an impressive feat!
...
Bow Brown and Grant Bartlett (raised rudder) follow Butch to the right side of the beat as both cross behind Gale Shoemaker (93).
...
Jim McIntyre and Candi Robb make the most of their little breeze.
