Race #4 action - Part 1

Sunday morning, two races to go. It doesn't look too promising just prior to the first start.  - larger image here

After a good start beside Butch Minson (3951), Uncle Al (3854) tacks away to cover John de Boer.
Peter Hylen is jib-less in the background. Never did find out why!   - larger image here

John de Boer (7351) moves out well as he begins to chase Uncle Al.   - larger image here
...
A good, close battle between Ed Kraft (6751) and Geoff Edwards (9483) as they approach the first windward mark.
Ed's main looks to be in a bit tight which is OK if he can keep his speed.
...

Robert Hart (10139) starboards Geoff but it looks like Ed has made it across OK.    - larger image here

The start of the run, just off the Lake Eustis SC. Uncle Al (3854) is closely pursued by John deBoer with a number of others poised to make a move. Both Roger Shepherd (7700) and Joe DeBrincat (1115) could make their spinnies easier to fly by heeling to windward.   - larger image here

John and Dolores looking good!
...

Depressingly good, as Al and Marc attempt to hold them off!
...

A textbook example of how to do it without a spinnaker! Gale and Jim looking super! Mike Murto in the background.

Close competition all the way down the run!  - larger image here

Ed Kraft and Stan Woodruff looking fine!
