Over an hour later, the RC finally sounded the half-hour warning. The only benefit from this lengthy delay was an increased wind strength as the fleets headed out for race 2. ..

The Sunfish (first fleet) countdown begins. Note how the course is cleverly indicated by white numbers on red or green backgrounds to signify whether that mark is to be left to port or starboard. The fleet starting order is indicated by boards with the fleet symbols on them - except Wayfarers! So who's going to make a board with a winged W for them during the off-season??!!
