In the Wayfarer start, Al got near the pin end and tacked across the fleet at the gun but Hubert gave Al a good battle all the way up the short beat across the lake from the start to #6. In the minefield of shifts and dead spots near the mark, Al finally managed to avoid one that Hubert didn't, and rounded with about 100 yards of lead over Mike Anspach and Ted Hall. |

and Joe DeBrincat (right) and Bob Emans (red/white/blue) bringing up a breeze, it ought to be fun getting around the mark. .. |

Going back to
#6 before
a run to #4 and a beat back to
the finish
near the club, Joe DeBrincat (1115) has wisely
positioned himself to
windward
of a pair of faster Interlakes and won't get his
wind destroyed by the
huge chutes. Meanwhile, Bob Emans (2389) is cleverly
making a move on
Mike
Anspach while the latter is busy hoisting his chute.
