but made things look dim for Dwight (4606), Grant (9239) and Robert Kennedy (extreme right). ... |

Peter (5631) keeps Al
(3854) pinned on starboard tack - and Al hates it
when that happens!!!!! Actually, it looked like
Peter and Alex would win this one until Al outguessed
them in the shift paradise near #6 and got around with
about 100 metres of lead. With excellent spi work and
very little weight from crew, Dave, Al continued to
pull away down the two free legs ...

First-place Al is somewhere behind George's sails (CAN80) while Peter Rahn and Dwight Aplevich have gained a solid grip on the 2-3 places. .. |

In the end, it was Al,
Peter and Dwight placing a pretty comfortable 1-2-3,
while Brian Jeffs held 4th over the onrushing Grant Town
and John Goldi. 7th place went to Len Macdougall ahead
of Al Nichols while George Blanchard's unlucky final
beat left him in 9th. Jens Biskaborn also experienced
some calm moments on the final beat and fell to 11th
behind clubmate, Robert kennedy in this extremely close
race.
