After a great night's sleep
in our tent supplied and put up for us by Frank Goulay, Marc ...
...
|
|
... awoke just after 5 a.m.
and got these unique shots of Lac Deschênes before the sunrise.

Marc howled at the moon and
then ...
...
|
|
... turned his attention to
...

... preparing SHADES
for the long sailing day to come. Even the jib that Marc loves to hate
is hoisted.
...
|
|
Alas, the news was not
good: when he put tension on the jib halyard, the stemhead fitting
began to pull out. Further investigation revealed that nothing short of
plugs would give this fitting sufficient grip to cope with the
stresses. But, being the great and considerate crew that he is, Marc
did not give Uncle Al the bad news until the latter woke up two hours
later.

Fyfe for his many contributions to the Lac Deschênes Sailing Club.

Shortly thereafter, Dr.
Fyfe, our specialist, makes a "house call". He examines the patient as
the concerned relatives, Al and Marc (r) look on.

Bill fills another

... Marc keeps the plugs
coming and Al supervises. Soon, the plugs have been epoxied in and now
...
...
|
|
... it's just a matter of
waiting around for two hours or so while the epoxy sets. So Al can now
supervise Frank who ...

Mike Codd, is hard at work putting ...

onto KGB to put her into regatta form.

Registration just about
complete, Pat Aplevich, Carol Hansman and Françoise

Fred and Anne Black have
arrived from Toronto. Now all Fred needs is for his son and crew,
David, to arrive from Nova Scotia.
