After an early morning forage into Vegennes where Uncle Al located the one and only restaurant that was open by 0600, Al was back in plenty of time to verify the unsettled condition forecast for the day. Al's crew, Frank Goulay, was expected to arrive from Ottawa later in the day, which turned out to be a blessing since Kevin Pegler was going to be crew-less on this less than appealing looking day. So SHADES (above) was left to await Frank's arrive before being launched.
...

Al's "home" looks a bit bedraggled but came through the night's downpours pretty dry - unlike Al's sandals which a less than sober Al had forgotten to bring home from the Peglers' campsite the night before. Shirley had kindly stashed them under the picnic table but the rains had reached them just the same, and Al spent the rest of the morning wandering around with insoles made from restaurant napkins.
